DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Try-outs will be held for boys and girls middle school soccer on Sept 15th and 17th.  Please meet Ms. Sanchez and Mrs Mitchell on the back field at 2:25pm with sports clothes.  Pick-up or late bus will be at 3:30 pm.  Please see nurse for physical forms!!  ASAP!!!
  2. The Renaissance Choir is back!!  Listen up all singers.  There will be a meeting on Monday 15, 2014 @ 2:20 in the Library…please come and be full of IDEAS.  Please see Markysha Coppedge or Zari Gushman for any comments or questions.
  3. Basketball sign-ups for the boys. They will be Sept 18th and 19th at both lunches. Either Tracey Marshall or a member of the team will be doing sign-ups.
  4. Crew Teaching Assistants: Students in grades 10-12 can sign up to be a Founding Crew Teaching Assistant.  Selected students must complete an Orientation and Training Session on Saturday, September 20th from 8 am to 12 pm.   Sign-ups will be available at HS lunch and in the Main Office.   Questions?  See Dr. Mahoney or Ms. Slabich
  5. ANYONE interested in  high school student council will be meeting Wednesday, 9/17 after school in room 42!
  6. Renaissance All-Parents meeting with Dr. Mahoney – Thursday, September 18th, 6 pm.
  7. Please support Renaissance PTO and donate/buy during Renaissance Open house Bake Sale Fundraiser on October 2nd (5:15-7:15). Baked goods can be dropped at School’s front office on the morning/day of October 2nd or brought to the Sale at 5:15.

College Visits

Seniors and Juniors are invited to attend the college visits sessions occurring in the guidance suite.

Students signing up for college admissions visits MUST get a pass  from Ms. Grant,  ONE DAY PRIOR to the meeting date.   Students who do not follow this procedure will not be allowed to attend.

  • Thursday, 11th : 8-11:30 am, 6th Grade Parent Day, parents of our 6th grade students can come to school to observe classes, have lunch with their students and meet teachers and administrators
  • Friday, 12th : Dress Down Day ($3 Fee)
  • Wednesday, 17th , 5 pm: National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. Parents of nominees are welcome to join us!
  • Thursday, 18th :

o   8-11:30 am, 6th Grade Parent Day, parents of our 6th grade students can come to school to observe classes, have lunch with their students and meet teachers and administrators

o   6:00-7:30 pm, All School Parents Meeting with Dr. Mahoney. Bring your questions, concerns and suggestions!

  • Thursday, 25th :

o   8-11:30 am, 6th Grade Parent Day, parents of our 6th grade students can come to school to observe classes, have lunch with their students and meet teachers and administrators. You are welcome to visit once, twice or all three days.

  • Friday, 5th: TSRS Swag Day.

 

October 2nd 2014:

o   5:30-7:15 pm, Renaissance OPEN HOUSE plus PTO bake Sale and School store will be open (rescheduled from September 25th). Please support Renaissance PTO – Donate and buy baked goodies!  All Renaissance families are invited!

o   5:30-7:00 pm, Senior College Planning Meeting. Parents and guardians of our Seniors are invited!

 

There is a list of Renaissance Adventure Trips for September-October: Note, Parents are welcome to chaperone but you have to be CORI certified with SPS. If you are interested please stop by the front office in a hurry and I will give you a form to fill out.

      6th grade, October 10th : Hiking, Mt. Tom State Reservation 125 Reservation Rd, Holyoke, MA; 33 miles roundtrip; leave school @ 7:45am, return to school by 2:10pm.

      7th grade, September 4th : Indoor Rock Climbing, Central Rock Gym, 165 Russell St. Hadley, MA; 47 miles round-trip; leave school @ 7:45am, return to school by 2:10pm

      8th grade, September 8th : Low Ropes Course, Camp Shepard, 370 NW Road, Westfield, MA; 32 miles round-trip; leave school @ 7:45am, return to school by 2:10pm .

      9th grade, September 12th : Hiking, Peaked Mountain Reservation, Butler Rd, Monson, MA; 34 miles round-trip; leave school @ 7:45am, return to school by 2:10pm.

      10th grade, October 3rd : Climbing, Kayaking/Canoeing, Fishing, Primitive Survival Skills @ Tekoa Mountain Outdoors, 27 Sugar Hill Rd, Williamsburg, MA; 68 miles round-trip, leave school at 7:45am, return to school by 2:10pm.

      11th grade, September 12th : White-water rafting, Crab Apple Whitewater, 2056 Mohawk Trail Charlemont, MA; 51 miles round-trip; leave school @ 7:45am, return to school by 2:10pm.

Middle school soccer sign-ups will be held on Sept 3rd and 4th at lunch.  Try-outs will be held for boys and girls on Sept 15th and 17th.  Please meet Ms. Sanchez and Mrs Mitchell on the back field at 2:25pm with sports clothes.  Pick-up or late bus will be at 3:30 pm.  Please see nurse for physical forms!!  ASAP!!!
  2.   4. If you are interested in being on the Rachel’s Table Teen Board, please contact Debbie Rubenstein at 733-0084.  Monthly meetings are held once a month on Sunday evenings from 7:30 to 8:30pm at the Jewish Community Center in Spfld.  The first meeting will be Sunday, Sept 17th at 7:30pm.  This board is committed to helping the hungry in our area.
