DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. BOOK FAIR in the Library on December 10-16,  7:30-3:00.
  2. Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean bike club is not happening. Come help us maintain our fleet of bikes and learn some mechanics in the process. We will go out for rides still on nice days. Every Monday afterschool in the bike locker. If you don’t know where to meet us, go to Mr. Galanis’ room right after school. If he isn’t there go to Mr. Pear’s office, the bike locker is across the hall from Mr. Pear’s office.
  3. Please donate to the Open Pantry!!!!  The community is in need of your help!!  Please donate non-perishable food items.  Renaissance Prep students will pick up items every Weds.  Please contact Mrs. Mitchell for questions.
  4. Dress Down Day will be on Friday, 12/12 for $3.00!!!!
    1. Anyone looking for internship hours The BASKETBALL team may be able to help. There will be a meeting WEDNESDAY, 12/10 at 2:30 in rm. 106.

Students signing up for college admissions visits MUST get a pass  from Ms. Pat Grant,  ONE DAY PRIOR to the meeting date.   Students who do not follow this procedure will not be allowed to attend.

  1. Because of the need at the food pantry, we would like for you and your peers to donate canned goods.  Thanksgiving is on its way and we would really like to help the community.  Students in the Renaissance Prep will pick up any goods every Wednesday.
  2. The Renaissance Players will be performing The Laramie Project Friday, November 14th and Saturday, November 15th at 7:00 in the auditorium. Tickets are $5.
  3. Fem-Powerment meetings are every Thursday from 2:30-3:30.
  4. Any High School student aged 16 and up if you are interested in work, the Springfield Park Dept after-school program is hiring.  The pay is $9.00.  If interested, apply at SpringfieldCityHall.com – click on Employment opportunities – Head recreation Leader.

Wednesday, 10/29 Announcements

DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. This fall’s Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network Convention will be held at Westfield high from 9-5 on November 1. If you’re interested in going, please visit glsen.org to register. Transportation will be provided from Central. If you have any questions, please see Ariana or Tiffinie  in 12th grade or anyone that attended AnyTown, Ms. Cuffee-Gray.
  2. Boys Basketball is having a fundraiser from 10/20 to 11/18. Anyone interested in ordering please can do so with anyone of the players.
  3. Sodexo is having a “STOP Hunger Food Drive” beginning Monday, 10/20/14 through Friday, 11/14/14.  If you would like to donate any nonperishable food items, please deposit them in the boxes that will be stationed in the cafeteria.  The food will be given to the Springfield Rescue Mission and the Gray House.  Thank you!

  5. The Gay Straight Alliance will meet in the Faculty Cafeteria during H.S. Lunch on Thursdays – If you are a middle school member, get a pass from your crew teacher.

  7. Garden club will meet Thursday, 10/30, rain or shine.  All are welcome!  Room 55 immediately after school, then out to the front of the school to plant bulbs.  If weather is too wet, we will go the greenhouse!  See Mrs. Markey if you have questions.
  8. “Are you planning on joining the ski club?  Did you miss the meeting on October 16th?  You must talk to Mr. Levine, Ms. Hale, Ms. Cinelli or Ms. Dill ASAP to confirm your name for the club roster. Do not procrastinate. The snow will be here before you know it”
  9. Students interested in attending the 28th Annual Urban League Historical Black College and University Fair on Saturday, November 15th in New York please see Ms. Wilson in guidance for an application. The cost is $20 and you must attend a mandatory workshop on Saturday, November 1st at 10am at the MLK Center.
  10. All Crew TA’s to meet with Dr. Mahoney in Teacher’s Cafeteria on Thursday, 10/30 @ 10:30am.
  11. All Renaissance Ambassadors to meet with Dr. Mahoney in Teacher’s Cafeteria on Friday, 10/31 @ 10:30am.
