HAVE A GREAT DAY

  1. Hey SENIORS…. We need 38 folks to attend our trip we are planning to Cedar Point & Soak City.  Because this trip will officially take place AFTER you graduate,  we can extend the invitation to family and (trusted) friends as well!  Let’s make this happen!  Ducharme will be coming around on Thursday during crew to find those of you who are looking forward to a great experience…… over 8 world record breaking roller coasters ….. awesome water slides, a wave pool, and a leisurely floating canal….and a cool night time experience called “Illumination”!  You get A LOT for your money on this trip…and I hope you take advantage of the opportunity! 
  2. Adventure Club Zip lining trip on Friday, May 10 after school.  Cost is $60 for the Mountain Top Tour (an amazing trip that we did last time) and $75 for the Upper Valley Jumping Tour (the most extreme trip they offer). A $20 deposit and the permission slip is due by Wednesday, May 3 to hold your spot.  See Ms. Cramer in room 139 for details.
  3. Ducharme crew is hosting a blood drive on Monday, May 20th during school….Any student 16 or over can donate!  Your donation of ONE pint of blood will help THREE people in need!
    Donators will earn RED SOX SWAG and be entered into a drawing for RED SOX TICKETS!
    Ducharme crew will be visiting 10th, 11th, and 12th crews next week to review the requirements to fill the 40 donation appointments! 
    Teachers wanting to donate during prep should email Ducharme!
    Stay healthy, drink lots of water, and eat well! Thanks to those who sign up!
  4. On May 2, Thursday, 5:30-7:30 pm – Renaissance invites Our Parents and Students to AN EXHIBITION NIGHT: Exhibitions/Silent Auction by Crew/ Family Potluck Dinner. Come to support our Outward Bound Program and enjoy a dinner with your family! Small gifts and gift Certificates for the Crew auction baskets are welcome. Please, bring your favorite dish, appetizer, salad or dessert. Want to help? Pease contact Mrs. Heiney ().
  5. Juniors who are in the performance for the 11th grade expedition on exhibition night are strongly encouraged to attend after school rehearsal from 3-3:50 this Wednesday with Ducharme.  This includes students in the monologue and movement theater workshops.

The deadline is May 7th. Fee is $50 (if you receive Free or Reduced Lunch – a fee waiver is available – with a signed commitment form).

Adventure Club Zip lining trip on Friday, May 10 after school.  Cost is $60 for the Mountain Top Tour (an amazing trip that we did last time) and $75 for the Upper Valley Jumping Tour (the most extreme trip they offer). A $20 deposit and the permission slip is due by Wednesday May 3 to hold your spot.  See Ms. Cramer in room 139 for details.

  5. Yankee Candle Merchandise is here!!  Sellers need to plan to pick it up after school on Monday April 29,  See Ms. Cramer in room 139 at 3pm.  You will need a ride home – it is a lot of boxes!
  6. Elisha DeJesus and Eryn Perez are taking donations and raising funds to help pay for a memorial stone for Shy Nieves. Orange ribbons, pins with pictures of Shy, and baked goods will be available after school Monday, April 29th to Friday, May 3rd. Contact Mr. Holland’s crew with any questions.

Seniors….Imagine….a 164 ft drop…sitting next to the track, not above or below it, and with your feet dangling in the air!  Oh Yeah….The Gate Keeper opens in May at Cedar Point, and you’ll be at the front of the line to ride this record breaking winged roller coaster in June!  Or, maybe you prefer the Zoom Flume!  Sit with a group in a gigantic inner tube and slide down a chute at the end of a 74 foot tall zume flume!  $425 includes 2 Day park hopper to both Cedar Point AND Soak City Water Park!  Let’s go!!!  Leave the night of June 11th (Tuesday).  Come back Friday, June 14th.  Includes luxury bus liner transportation, 2 nights (quad occupancy) stay ON SITE, 2 pizza dinner buffets, evening outdoor party “Illumination”, 2 breakfast buffets, and one FAST LANE PASS for one day of getting to the front of the line at all the rides, including Dragster and the Gatekeeper (Opens in May!).  This is your SENIOR TRIP y’all!  Let’s get to 40 people so we can make this happen!  $150 nonrefundable deposits due by April 22nd plus $275 (the rest) due by May 15th.  See Ducharme for more details if you need ‘em!

  1. The National Day of Silence is this  Friday, April 12th. Sign up in the cafeteria this week with the Renaissance GSA to participate in this day to show support and cultural sensitivity for those young people who are silenced by discrimination based on who they are and who they love.
  2. Calling all high school girls! Interested in learning and playing women’s rugby? The Springfield Rifles Rugby Club is recruiting girls 14 and older to join their team! No experience necessary. Stop by Room 140 and sign up with Ms. Au-Yeung.
  3.
